Local Nature Reserves & Walks

• 1:The Lexden Gathering Grounds reserve managed by the Essex Wildlife Trust is adjacent and reached by turning right out of the Caravan Park, walking up Cymbeline Way, and then right again into Cook's Lane. Dog's can safely be let off the lead, there are a number of foot-paths that weave through the many trees. Especially pretty in the spring the ground is a patchwork of blue bells.

• 2:Lexden Springs Park across the road from our entrance is a wide open grassy area with a small area of woodland and some high ground with seats to view the surrounding area.

• 3:Lexden Park off Church Lane has some woodland, paths and an attractive pond with wildfowl. This park is especially good for playing ball games such as football or rounders.

• 4:Hilly Fields the footpath that leads to Colchester Town Center in around 30 minutes, begins in Spring Lane opposite the Caravan Park entrance. It offers a very nice walk into the town centre and some great views along the way.
